(for Peter Everett 1971-2015)
The stars we don’t see, don’t reveal.
It’s like reading a Lorca poem, where
the translator mistakes ‘I love’
for ‘I want.’ I miss stars. I miss most
everything I took for love and now I want.
Pete, who crashed his motorcycle
on a starless night. The way he shined.
